ConnectLife teams with Fattey Beer & the Buffalo Bills during critical time for blood donations

During one of the hardest times of the year to find blood donors, one of ConnectLife’s community partners has an incentive sure to grab some attention: free beer.

All throughout July, every donor over 21 at ConnectLife blood drives will get a voucher for a buy one, get one free draft pint at any Fattey Beer location. The local taproom chain has locations in Buffalo, Hamburg, Kenmore, Lancaster, Orchard Park, Rochester and North Tonawanda, with another opening soon in Amherst.

At the same time, Bills fans can take advantage as well: donors will also be entered into giveaways for training camp tickets. That includes the week of July 1-6, when one donor each day will receive a pair of VIP tickets that include an exclusive viewing area, food and beverages. Those raffles will continue throughout the month with four winners each week.

The partnerships come at a crucial time for ConnectLife and local hospitals. Donations drop drastically in the summer with schools out and travel disrupting schedules. At the same time, demand rises with the increase in traffic leading to more accidents. As a result, ConnectLife’s blood shipments to ECMC and Mercy Flight have spiked with the start of summer.

Those first responders and others are doing their part to bolster the blood supply as well as part of the Save our Summer campaign. Police, fire, and medical organizations have been holding summer drives and competing to win a suite at a Buffalo Bisons game. Donors at those drives will receive an exclusive Save our Summer cap.

All the blood donated to ConnectLife stays local, saving lives at nearly every hospital in WNY’s eight counties. Donors are welcome at centers in Williamsville, West Seneca, and Tonawanda, as well as mobile drives around the area daily. To schedule an appointment, *text GIVEWNY to 999777, visit ConnectLifeGiveBlood.org or call 716.529.4270.
